Client: Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
Location: Eastern Half of Pennsylvania
Type/Size: Routine NBIS Inspections and Reports
Owner: Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
Services: Bridge Inspection
PCS is providing NBIS bridge inspections and reports for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). This project begins in 2015 and the bridges are located on State Park and State Forest land in the eastern half of Pennsylvania. Due to challenges inherent to working in a wilderness environment, all inspection vehicles used on this project are equipped with four-wheel drive transmissions and all-terrain tires. All field personnel are certified in first aid and are aware of the proper protocol to follow when encountering potentially aggressive animals. The inspectors carry a field guide to identify poisonous plants and are respectful of all wildlife, both plant and animal, and never disturb the natural setting surrounding the bridge. PCS strictly adheres to all Park rules and regulations. All bridge safety inspections performed utilize the latest version of PennDOT’s I-forms to record the bridge inspection data in the field, which will then be uploaded to PennDOT’s BMS2 database.
