Inspection of 240 State-Owned Bridges in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties. Inspection categories include routine, in-depth, interim, and damage inspection types. Many of the bridges require lane closures on high traffic volume roadways including the Pennsylvania Turnpike; Interstates 76, 78, 81, 83, and 283; and US Routes 11, 15, 22, 30, 222, and 322 as well as special access equipment such as inspection cranes and bucket trucks. Pennsylvania’s bridge management system (BMS2) and iForms are used as a part of the reporting process. This is in addition to complying with Federal and PA State regulations for bridge safety inspection. Inspection reports include bridge capacity load ratings that adhere to current PennDOT rating policies and procedures. An inventory and operating rating for H, HS, ML80, and TK527 loadings is provided using PennDOT’s latest version of appropriate software.
