NBIS bridge inspections and reports for all city, township, and borough owned bridges throughout District 6-0 (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties). Inspection categories include routine, in-depth, interim, and damage inspection types. Pennsylvania’s bridge management system (BMS2) and iForms are used as a part of the reporting process. This is in addition to complying with federal and PA State regulations for bridge safety inspection. Inspection reports include bridge capacity load ratings that adhere to current PennDOT rating policies and procedures. An inventory and operating rating for H, HS, ML80, and TK527 loadings is provided using PennDOT’s latest version of appropriate software. Extensive coordination is required with AMTRAK, SEPTA, Norfolk Southern, and CSX railroads. A Hi-Rail bucket truck and AMTRAK’s CAT Car are used to obtain hands on inspection of fracture critical members. Notable bridges include the Strawberry Mansion and Falls Bridges in the City of Philadelphia shown below.
